Before the advent of home video record companies were always looking of new things to put on vinyl. Roulette Records, whose mob backing was an open secret, hit on the idea of Co☆Star. The premise was faintly brilliant - a film star would record one half of the dialogue and the liner notes had the script for the other, allowing you to interact with them at home. The stars were an eclectic bunch, ranging from Sir Cedric Hardwicke to June Havoc but surely the pick of the lot is the one containing the rich, sinister tones of Vincent Price. You should have known the grave would never hold him.

The Music from Peter Gunn album cover
The theme tune for Peter Gunn might be better remembered for its' use in The Blues Brothers and Monty Python's Flying Circus rather than the moderately successful private eye series that spawned it. However, Henry Mancini's first soundtrack work for Blake Edwards did boast this cracker of an LP cover.

Jackie Sings the Blues album cover
Effortless cool from Jackie Wilson with this 1960 LP cover which makes Frank Sinatra look like a fat truck driver. As a side note if this cover wasn't seen by the makers of Red Dwarf it would be a major surprise.
